Tom's Ford Commercial
Buying a Ford Transit in Middlesex and Monmouth County
Tom's Ford sells and services the full Ford Transit lineup (cargo van, passenger van, cutaway and chassis cab, plus the E-Transit) from 200 NJ-35 South in Keyport, 30 seconds off Garden State Parkway Exit 117. Most of our commercial business already comes from Edison, South Plainfield and the rest of Middlesex County. From Raritan Center it's about 20 minutes down the Parkway, and Holmdel and Middletown are about 15 minutes the other way.
Our commercial desk handles in-stock vans, factory orders and upfits, so a business in Edison, Piscataway or Middletown deals with one person from "I need a van" to a shelved, racked van. After the sale, a dedicated commercial service team keeps the van working, and our wholesale parts team delivers to your location twice a day anywhere within 30 miles, which covers every town on this page.

Ford Transit questions from local businesses
Where can a business in Edison, South Plainfield or Middletown buy a Ford Transit?
Tom's Ford, 200 NJ-35 South in Keyport, is a Ford Pro dealer off Garden State Parkway Exit 117: about 20 to 30 minutes from Edison and South Plainfield and about 15 minutes from Holmdel and Middletown. Matt Lyden, Commercial Sales Manager, handles in-stock vans, factory orders and upfits. Call 732-264-1600.
Which Transit roof height do I need?
Ford lists inside cargo height at 56.9 inches for the low roof, 72 inches for the medium roof and 81.5 inches for the high roof. If you're in and out of the back all day, the high roof lets most people stand up straight. If you mostly slide cases in and drive, the low or medium roof is easier to park.
How much cargo space does a Ford Transit cargo van have?
Ford lists cargo volume behind the front seats at 246.7 cu ft for the low roof on the 130 in wheelbase, 277.7 cu ft for the low roof on the 148 in wheelbase, 357.1 cu ft for the medium roof, 404.3 cu ft for the high roof and 487.3 cu ft for the high roof extended length. The medium and high roofs come on the 148 in wheelbase only.
Can you upfit the van before I pick it up?
Yes. We work with upfit partners including Dejana, Knapheide, Reading and Jersey Truck Equipment for shelving, ladder racks, partitions and box or service bodies, so the van shows up ready to work.
Do I have to bring my van to Keyport for service?
Usually not. We have a dedicated commercial service team, and Ford Mobile Service and complimentary pickup and delivery cover businesses within 20 miles of Keyport, including Edison, Woodbridge, Sayreville, Holmdel and Middletown. South Plainfield and Piscataway are at the edge of that zone, so call and we'll work it out.
Will you deliver a new Transit to my business in Middlesex County?
Yes. We deliver new vehicles to your business within 20 miles of Keyport.
Do you deliver Ford parts to businesses in Edison and South Plainfield?
Yes. Our wholesale parts team delivers to your location twice a day anywhere within 30 miles of Keyport, which covers Edison, South Plainfield and the rest of Middlesex County. Five countermen with 200+ years of combined Ford parts experience handle the orders. Call 732-264-1694.
Does a Transit qualify for Section 179?
Many cargo Transits are bought with Section 179 in mind. Run your numbers in our free Section 179 NJ calculator, then confirm with your accountant. This is not tax advice.
Is the Ford E-Transit still available?
Yes. Ford sells the 2026 E-Transit with an 89 kWh battery. Ask Matt what's available to order and how it fits your daily miles.
Can I still get a Transit Trail?
No. Ford ended the Transit Trail after the 2024 model year. A high-roof cargo van with AWD and an upfit is the closest current setup.
